We just returned from a Boston to California Amtrak trip.
Our first stop was Riverside, CA which is home to the amazing Mission Inn.
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott the first night and took a taxi to the Mission Inn the next day. What a beautiful inn- it is more than an inn-it
is a huge historic inn with courtyards, several restaurants, a spa, and a large collection of paintings and pottery. It is also right next to a town
promenade with all kinds of shops and eateries.
Google the Mission Inn to see how amazing it is. A stay there requires a minimum of 2 nights, so we happily stayed at the Courtyard which is well run.
Riverside, CA- a good one night stopover on the way to LA and beyond.
