Well, I'm glad I changed from the April 6th TE to the April 7th SWC for our trip to LA. Will miss the extra day on the train, but I'm not into getting off, busing it, and getting back on.

Had the same problem. I was going Chicago to LA. I got tired of not being sure of what was going to happen for my April 6th trip. I changed from the TE and switched to the Southwest Chief just to be sure I have a trip.

If your Amtrak agent corroborates all this, I wonder why Amtrak reps dont see this info when I ask about my trip? Any ideas why they are not letting me know if it's cancelled?

I contacted Amtrak and they said there's no problem, my trip is not impacted, but I don't know if I believe them. Trying to figure out who I can contact to get the real info.

Im just looking for opinions. Taking Amtrak from CHI to LAX. Which in your opinion is the best trip overall? Just assume they both take the same amount of time and cost the same for a bedroom. Please let me know what you think.

Does the rumor you're referring to include Chicago to San Antonio traditional dining? Going from Chicago to LA in April and that would be wonderful news for us.
