Hi. I just joined the A. Unlimited. I am a retired Philosophy prof and a fan of rail travel. I am also a Texas council representative for the Rail Passengers Association. I found the forum by looking up something online. In 2021 my son and I had taken the Lakeshore Limited from NYC to Chicago. Someone asked me what our accommodations were like and I described the Viewliner. Later I got to wondering if it was a Viewliner I or II. I'm supposing someone here will know, but I think it was a II.

I seem to recall the NY sleepers back then were Viewliner IIs.
Assuming you were in a roomette, if it had a toilet in the room then it was a V1, if no toilet then a V2.
