Fatality on NJT River Line from fallen tree

A fallen tree in the path of a NJT River Line train in Burlington County, resulted in the train crashing into the tree which caused the one fatality, the operator and 20 injuries among the passengers.

When did the tree fall? Anyone live close by?

That area is pretty remote and the accident was close to start of service, it was probably hit by the first train.

Yes, I live nearby. It happened between my town’s RiverLine stop and the next town down. Densely wooded and lots of underbrush there very close to the tracks.
