    TE/SL staying on train

Sorry to ask again, but would it help if we went LCH/SAS, SAS/CHI then on to EB, CS and SL home? We just want to ride the train with as few hotels as possible and no layover in NOL or "sit-over" in SAS. The CS and the EB are 2 of our favorites. Thank you again.

    TE/SL staying on train

:( Is there a difference between the 21/22 and the 421/422? Maybe the TE isn't our best route. Thank you.

    TE/SL staying on train

We're riding either from CHI to SAS on the TE then th SL to LCH or reversing it. We're retired so it doesn't matter which direction! Can we stay in our roomette for the several hours that it sits in SAS? Thank you

    Overnight in NOL station

I am asking for someone else (50 yr 0ld man, traveling alone). Is it possible to stay overnight in the NOLstation? He is scheduled to arrive about 9:00 pm on the SL and depart the next morning at 7:00 am on the Crescent. He doesn't want to get a hotel room. I didn't know how to advise him, so...

LCH to NOL Should we plan on taking a bus?

Thanks everyone. As of today, it looks like the SL is running across Texas again. It looks like we'll be spending the night in NOL. We've been there many times. I think we've seen everything good (we're not partiers). We've noticed hostility the last couple of times.

LCH to NOL Should we plan on taking a bus?

We are scheduled to ride to NOL Sept. 15 to continue on to the Northeast on the Crescent. I realize that no one knows for certain what will happen to the SL. One Greyhound arrives in NOL at 7:am, but the Crescent departs at 7:00 am. Since the stations are in the same terminal, has anyone had...

Empire Builder, California Zephyr, and Coast Starlight in winter

I'm trying to plan a trip in December. I'm mostly interested in just riding the train and seeing the scenery.(Being from South Louisiana, we don't see snow or mountains very much). Our favorite trains are the CS, the western half of EB and CZ. I realize the trains have more problems being on...

Thank you. I think the ferry stops Sept 24. We'll be there Sept 19.

Thank you very much. We're seniors (70's, but fit). It's our first visit to this area. We love Amtrak and this forum.

    Port Kent to Ferry

When we arrive at PRK, do we walk to the ferry pier? It seems close, but on a "main" street. I see it is a car ferry but I assume pedestrians can ride too. Is this correct? Thank you.
