Actually, you can book on Amtrak all the way to NFS (Niagara Falls, ON). This gets you across the border if you don't want to buy the VIA segment from Amtrak for some reason (ticketed from "CBN" to TWO).

There is no need for a hard copy ticket because the conductor can look your name up and lift your ticket that way, if his mobile device has trouble scanning your "digital" eTicket. But if you want to be extra, extra sure, then a hard copy can't hurt.

You'll definitely be able to handle it at the ticket counter -- in fact, this is the preferred way to do it right now. Amtrak.com has plans to integrate eVouchers but, of course, it has to come from capital funding.

No, an unaccompanied guest means that a guest can't waltz in unaccompanied without the pass bearer. If it were an underage child, it would say unaccompanied minor.

Is it possible that there are two email addresses in the redemption reservation? There's a system glitch where if you have multiple email addresses in a redemption booking, only the first email address gets the eTicket email. The bug doesn't apply to paid bookings, only free ones. Supposedly...
