Jumping in midway in sleeper with someone. Possible?

Here's apples and apples - Amtrak doesn't charge you to make a reservation over the phone :) Some airlines will charge you even if their Web site can't accommodate the request.

    AGR MasterCard signup bonus

You can base it on history, but the banks are getting more conservative these days and you may or may not see such a rich offer again for a good while. If you want the card, you should apply when it makes sense for you.

    Earning Question

That's the default, but an Amtrak agent can manually designate a different passenger at the time of booking to get the points for the accom charge (not every agent will have a clue how to do this - might need a supervisor). In practice, it is much easier to go by the "first passenger" rule.

ATL to TWO - 1 zone?

Actually, you can book on Amtrak all the way to NFS (Niagara Falls, ON). This gets you across the border if you don't want to buy the VIA segment from Amtrak for some reason (ticketed from "CBN" to TWO).

    E-tickets

There is no need for a hard copy ticket because the conductor can look your name up and lift your ticket that way, if his mobile device has trouble scanning your "digital" eTicket. But if you want to be extra, extra sure, then a hard copy can't hurt.

    E-voucher use

You'll definitely be able to handle it at the ticket counter -- in fact, this is the preferred way to do it right now. Amtrak.com has plans to integrate eVouchers but, of course, it has to come from capital funding.

a silly little question re: CPAP machine onboard

There was recently a lengthy thread here about CPAP machines - maybe someone could find it as it might add some helpful context!

Unreserved AGR Pacific Surfliner ticket ?

Sleeper redemptions entitle you to BC on connecting services (excluding Acela). That is the AGR policy.

    An interesting issue.

I figured someone would say that. I say, "close enough!" :) Coke is sold behind the Amtrak cafe counter to Amtrak customers, even if not by an Amtrak employee.

... and the Maple Leaf between Niagara Falls and Toronto ;)

    AGR Coupons Available/Requested

No, an unaccompanied guest means that a guest can't waltz in unaccompanied without the pass bearer. If it were an underage child, it would say unaccompanied minor.

Thanks. Sorry my message was a bit brief.

AGR Sleeper Reservations Cancellation Policy (Rescinded)

The policy was rescinded by AGR pending further review. Who told you the policy was still in effect?

I Can Not Add Another Person Onto My Existing Reservation!

Is it possible that there are two email addresses in the redemption reservation? There's a system glitch where if you have multiple email addresses in a redemption booking, only the first email address gets the eTicket email. The bug doesn't apply to paid bookings, only free ones. Supposedly...

I Can Not Add Another Person Onto My Existing Reservation!

And here I thought you were complaining all this time about AGR's lack of published rules because you actually craved consistency. :giggle:

I Can Not Add Another Person Onto My Existing Reservation!

Texas Sunset, I suggest you write a complaint to headquarters. Mail it in and document everything you've tried and encountered. There is a management team that sets the policies and the call centers just do their best to apply those policies with whatever level of direction they're given. If...

New Select Executive Tier at AGR

Actually, not quite - the 3,000 TQP counter for Select Executive earned upgrades starts as soon as you earn the status, from what I understand. For 2013, if you earned 20K TQPs in 2012, then on Jan. 1 every 3,000 TQPs thereafter will result in an additional upgrade. For those who qualify in...
