As long as you are booked in the 421 sleeper (422 if east bound) you will not have to move. I've done several trips LA to Temple, TX and return on the Eagle (a few years ago) and always stayed put in my sleeper.

Are they ones that are occasionally seen on the Pacific Surfliner?

Recalling those stories from the past is why I proactively changed our car from 31 to 30. Our reservation is in mid to late September and was made in February. I didn't want a surprise like that a week out from our trip!

That would have been a Imperial Western Beer Company issue, not LAUS. Doesn't matter now as it closed, as mentioned above, as well as Homebound Brew which also closed.

Southern Calif Metrolink has "Cab Spot" signs for many stations - 5 car, 6 car consist, etc.

2 and 3 are also locomotives like #1. 5 is a Superliner Coach followed by another Transdorm, 2 coaches and, I can't tell what is in front of the lounge. 6 is Sightseer Lounge 7 is a Diner

I travel with two standard household extension cords (2 conductor), three outlets each - a 9 foot and a 6 foot. Easier to pack than a power strip and it provides me with multiple outlets. The 9 footer is run across the top of the couch to the window where my wife can plug in her phone charger...

As far as I know, none of the western long distance trains have WIFI.

No WiFi on the EB that I recall. Use your cellular when service is available.
