I love the California cars… sad to see them go. IMO the top level of a California car can’t be beat. I do want to ride the san Joaquin’s eventually to compare how the Siemens cars feel from a comfort perspective
Have the cafe cars arrived yet? (With vending machines).
They are in use on the California trains. Jan Joaquin, Capitol Corridor, and Pacific Surfliner.
I believe it’s a CA design and bought by Caltrans. They are now being replaced on the San Joaquin with the single level Siemens cars
Most modern cameras can and do have the geolocation data stored in the photo. You just need a program that can read that exif data stored in the photo.
For example on an iPhone (Which can do this natively from the photos app):

I thought the service pattern was Bay <-> Bakersfield and sac <-> Bakersfield.
This schedule doesn’t seem to show that?
it seems to show bay -> sac -> Bakersfield which doesn’t make sense
Just look at france and their double deck TGV… it’s pretty much taken over the fleet because of the capacity advantage, and because platforms can only grow so much. They even run them in pairs!
Personally I’m a bit disappointed the third gen hi-level didn’t work out
I don’t know if I’d call those galley cars beautiful. We have them on caltrain and … they’re solidly okay at best, and they don’t ride very well. The bombardier cars are more comfortable.
