    steamed mussels

They are excellent! I recommend getting some white wine and adding some to the broth and then enjoy.

    How are Viewliner roomettes?

My wife and I travel in a Viewliner roomette and find it works very well for us. We find the toilet to be not a problem (we been married for 53 years!), and in fact, find it quite convenient in the middle of the night. Not looking forward to the new ones sans toilet.

Greyhound Bus Lines up for sale

I didn’t walk, I hitch hiked. A family picked me up outside the bus terminal(I had my army duffle and didn’t even have my thumb out!). They asked me where I was going and said they’d take me to the outskirts of town where it would be easier to get a ride. They dropped me off and a Canadian...

Greyhound Bus Lines up for sale

I rode the Greyhound once from Chicago to Escanaba Mi. and then Hitchhiked to Powers where my father picked me up and brought me the rest of the way to Iron Mountain Mi. An interesting part of the trip home from ROTC summer camp at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation.

Two floatplanes collide midair near Ketchikan, AK

There is a tour that goes to the Misty Fiords. The boat takes a group out and meets the float plane which brings passengers out for the return on the boat, and the boat passengers return by float plane. The exchange is made at a large wooden float. It’s a great trip. Since we were not...

Advice for Son and me traveling on the Crescent

I also recommend staying over at least one day in New Orleans. I always also recommend that you take your son to the WWII museum. It is outstanding and would be an excellent educational experience for him (and you)!

    Canada Coast-to-Coast

I had friends who went the Prestige route and loved it. It was too rich for my blood! The bedroom was expensive enough.

Another mention of the “James Whitcomb Riley”, my train to Cincy during my college days!

    Canada Coast-to-Coast

We found them to be of the same quality which is excellent! Sorry for the slow response but the switch over it me out of contact and way behind!

This is all very interesting but seems to be mainly directed at computer access and all I ever use is my iPhone or iPad so most of the complex stuff is not available but I don’t miss it.

    Canada Coast-to-Coast

The bedroom for two on the Ocean has an en-suite bathroom with shower (like the Amtrak bedroom) but on the Canadian, the en-suite has no shower but is otherwise the same. There is separate shower down the hall which we never had a problem or wait to use. The two chairs in the bedroom can be...

    New Menus on #8

My comment was a joke. I guess I should have noted that in the comment/question.

When we boarded the CONO last summer, neither my wife nor I had our IDs checked.
