I've ridden Amtrak LD trains a pretty good amount, but today's southbound Coast Starlight has a new experience for me. I'm in the observation car but it only has tables. I thought they were all 50-50 tables and swivel seats. Are there many lounge cars like this with only tables?

Yup, I am on the #7 that got delayed by that mess yesterday. Not much left of the Amazon vehicle as we passed by. And a wide open view at that crossing so someone wasn't paying attention or had some other kind of issue.

It does take a few minutes for the data to work its way through the system. It's not instantaneous like a millisecond.

I saw that #11 (southbound Coast Starlight) took a detour according to the GPS tracker this morning. Does anyone know if this is a scheduled detour? Just curious. The previous #11 followed the normal route yesterday.
