    PPC Dinning Question

My wife and I had lunch and dinner at a table to ourselves. All of the tables just had couples or families. They must let you spread out if the demand is low to dine in there.

    CZ timing for breakfast.

I would reply with definitely if on time, and probably even if not on time. We rode the LSL coach from Cleveland and transferred to roomette in Toledo (starting the AGR redemption). We were running a couple hours late, and breakfast was going to be over before we got to Toledo. We went to the...

Chicago to Seattle via SWC and CS using AGR

You have to call to redeem roomette or bedroom awards. You can only book a coach seat online, I believe.

Chicago to Seattle via SWC and CS using AGR

They may try to get you to take a shorter route, but my understanding is that if it is a valid routing (which it is), they should honor that.

    Grand Canyon by Amtrak?

We took the SWC to Flagstaff about 2 years ago. Stayed the night and had a rental car in the morning to drive up to the Grand Canyon. Worked out well for us. I didn't know there was a bus, but that could have worked too.

Is the area at the Cleveland train station safe?

The station is open from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, according to the Amtrak site. We have left our car there for 10 or 11 days before. I wouldn't hesitate to leave it there again.

    Anyone here prefer paper tickets?

I prefer the paper tickets for Amtrak and other places, such as sporting events. I used to put tickets in a scrapbook from concerts/events. A bar code just isn't the same...

Redeeming two members' points for a trip

I was able to book one way with my points and one way with the Mrs. points, no problem.

    No more Email Log In?

For me, I have only ever booked one trip on points, a few years ago. I probably logged into AGR and wrote the number on a piece of paper. It's just used so infrequently that if I needed the number to log onto a website or do anything with it, it would take me a little work to find it.

    No more Email Log In?

I can't remember what I did yesterday, let alone a number I use once a year... :P I am glad that it gets populated automatically when I book a ticket. I know I have the card somewhere, but then I would have to remember where it is... :)

    No more Email Log In?

Yeah, I noticed that too. I log on the main Amtrak site with my e-mail and go to AGR from there since I don't have my number memorized.
