There are several different routes to return. And you would be able to see more of the country. We just finished a trip by taking the California Zephyr out to Emeryville. We drove north part way and took the Cascades part way to Seattle, and then returned on the Empire Builder. That runs along...

It opens at either 9AM or 10AM, I can't recall which. We took the Cascades out at 8:30AM, and it was not open. The baggage guy took us on a tour of the station the night before, and we got to check it out for a few minutes. Nice guy.

We were going to go up to Vancouver originally. I was thinking about running the marathon up there May 1st. My training didn't turn out so well, so we modified the trip slightly. I would like to get up there someday though.

We will be on the LSL and EB soon. Is a driver's license sufficient for ID purposes? I would prefer not to bring our passports (we're not crossing the border). Just one more thing to have to keep track of.

Maybe try to take both if time and budget allow?

I am from the Cleveland area, so I picked the first train that we will ever step foot on in a few months. (Can't wait!!) :lol:
