Thats proactive forward thinking management. Unless there is some weird regulation somewhere that prohibits it, it just makes sense.

That is part of the bad management. Regardless of whatever the reason is, they have nearly ZERO communication with their customer base. We don't know because we haven't hacked into their system to read emails and memos. They really should just be up front about why they move around the cars...

I think half the corporations (I include Amtrak with them) are just using the "manpower shortage" excuse to cut costs.

This bustituion seems to be part of the normal everyday operations for that route now. They shouldn't even offer the meetup and keep it a separate route that cant connect.

Such a sad state of affairs that now for every trip you make on Amtrak you seem to now have to "cross your fingers" and pray that the trip you paid a lot for isnt totally cancelled or completely ruined with little to no communication as to why from Amtrak. Amtrak doesnt like being treated like...

Should they just make bussing passengers to Ft Worth the expectation at this point? Ill be heading from LA first week of November as my last leg back to Dallas and now expect to be bussed to Ft Worth just to get off the train in Dallas.

I dont have any info on this but im sure a lot of us would be interested in a Travelogue of your trip. These local scenic trains are always fun excursions to check out on longer train trips. Have fun and looking forward to the report!

I cant imagine the levels of rage I would have to supress if Amtrak ever strands me out in the middle of no where without a care in the world.

What is premature termination of the train? Did it cease to exist?

I always wonder if they are simply moving cars, why not sell coach tickets for at least that run so that you can make some revenue instead of running it empty. Is running it empty a decision that is made only a few hours before departure?

So the faster the train goes the less time they are required to blow the horn?

More profit and they can do away with refills that way as well.
