I checked out some car shippers once. They were a lot more expensive than Autotrain and they ask for up to a week to deliver. They also prefer your vehicle completely empty.

Naturally any flight with problems sucks no matter what airline. I think the routes and cities served by different airlines could affect your choice, unless you intend to travel only the main routes between the biggest cities.

It's amazing they could do this with different railroads, yet Amtrak can't do it despite their monopoly. But there probably wouldn't be enough demand to do it today.

This one has great video clarity. I 'rewound' about 10 hours and caught the Zepher smoking up the hill and I could hear the horn, too. Somehow it pans and zooms.
