    So all these suggestions have been extremely great... I think I'm going to try out Sorcha's and Sunchaser's as my final solution: pack a small, separate duffle bag with some various decorations / items / battery candles, etc... and then slip a note to my SCA when my wife and I go to have dinner...

    Thanks also to everyone who sent their congrats too! I'll definitely be updating this thread with how things turned out (only the G-rated parts, of course!!) after we get back home at the beginning of June. If anyone still has more suggestions though - please feel free to keep them coming!
