Take the Chief, you'll have a Sightseer Lounge, Real Food and much better Time Keeping! The Eaglete is a Sad Shadow of itself with its pathetic consist of 4 Cars, Flex Meals and Terrible Time Keeping due to Bustitutions, Equipment Failures and Freight Interference in East Texas!🥺

SWA had Lounge type Seats around a Table in front on some Planes. They were popular, especially with Drinkers!😄

The one time I was on Air Force One( during Jimmy Carters Presidency,he wasn't aboard so technically it wasnt AF1) I didn't notice any backwards facing seats.(but I was in the very back by the Luggage!😄)

Eaglete does have a Diner ( CCC) but it's only open to Sleeper Pax for meals which are Flex Garbage! Also the Time Keeping is truly Terrible due to Freight congestion,Equipment Problems and Track Work in East Texas,.

Been mentioned many times, but the Hostel International in Chicago on Congress is a wonderful place, with Dorm and Private Rooms that are 1/3 to 1/2 the Chicago Hotels!

Amtrak could run the Eaglete on the old Lone Star Route, Ft Worth to Oklahoma City ( Heartland Flyer)to Kansas City ( on the SW Chief Route) to St Louis ( River Runner Route) and then to Chicago. With the Continuing Bustitution already effecting passengers between Longview and Ft Worth...

This happens frequently, usually someone wants to book two Roomettes Close together, or 2 Bedrooms that become a Suite. Also sometimes Rooms are taken out of service for Mechanical defects or equipment is replaced by another car!

It's always very busy since Greyhound and City buses, as well as TRE and Tex Rail,share the Intermodel Station. Sadly the Hot Dog Vendor that used to operate close to the Station entrance was run off by the City!🤬

Thanks, it's been a few years since I rode both Trains,and they weren't stopping in Richmond then. However I have used BART and the Capitol Corridor Trains to travel between Sacramento and San Francisco many times!

IINM the Zephyr and Starlight don't stop in Richmond, only the Capitol Corroidor Trains! Maybe Amtrak will do "One Off " stops in Richmond to allow connections to/from San Francisco with the Bay Bridge shutdown Sunday???

When they remodeled the Lounge the nice Cabinets where you could store your stuff vanished,!🤬
