    A Tale of Two Cities

I hear you Chris! Some of the Canadian Border people( my Canadian friends and family always said that the female ones were the toughest) can be rather abrupt and condescending, but having lived in, and visited Canada, many, many times, I never experienced a single time where they were as...

You can tell its been awhile since I've traveled abroad!( since before COVID) But the biggest hassles I ever had crossing borders was coming into the US!( I used to get asked why I traveled Internationaly so much, especially when my brother was an International Fugutive!🤔😄)

Perhaps your 2 Passports make it easier for you, but Americans always seem to have more hassles entering some Countries, including our own, especially since 911!

No it wouldn't, you'd need to change your ticket.( Long Distance Trains and NEC Trains are different, mostly dur to the distances between Stops) See Acela 150s Post above, he is an AC on the NEC.

Amish frequently ride the Chief and the Sunset Ltd. since many go to Mexico for Medical Care.( also lots of them have relatives living in Mexico, as do Mormons)

A Switching Crew does it in San Antonio. With the erratic arrival times of the Sunset and Eaglete into SAS, one never knows exactly when the switching will occur, but it's always after Midnight.( the SAS Station Scheduled Hours are 9PM-7AM Daily)

You're familiar with the Corn and Soybean fields in Illinois, ( which you see in both directions, it's usually dark on # 21 going into St. Louis,( crossing the River with St Louis lighted up is cool) then the Best Scenery in Southern Missouri/ Arkansas is in the dark both ways. From Texarkana...

As you pointed out, there's advantages to both, but if you have to choose one direction, I'd go with Northbound due to the departure and arrival times in SAS and CHI. With the current consist of the Eaglete being only 4 Cars, CCC, 2 Coaches and 1 Sleeper, and the Flex Meals served in the CCC,I...

    Attire on the train?

Down here in Texas, Famous Country Star George Strait made the "Cowboy Tuxedo" Famous! That's a Blazer over a Western Shirt and Wrangler Jeans with your Boots! I prefer Levi 501s myself, which is what I usually wear when traveling on Amtrak.

    Fare Buckets discussion 2023 Q4 - 2024

There's really no room for a bathroom. It's only about 10 feet down the Hall past the Roomettes to where the Toliet and Shower are located next to the H Room.

It's been extended a month until July, but I'll believe it when I see the Eaglete actually run between Longview and Ft Worth!

    Backing into Chicago Union Station

The Texas Eagle used to back into Union Station upon arrival .( as well as in Ft Worth due to the Infamous Tower 55/ Now abolished). It also shared equipment with the CONO for awhile, I remember the announcements about the Sightseer Lounge being closed as we approached Chicago so it could be...
