"Costs" not "pricing". Costs for these two trains are high due to the SL's 3-day schedule, TE stub consists, switching crew, and other reasons.. I guess no matter how simple the operation the crew are necessary. I forget operating rules have changed over the decades (amazing back in the 80s the...

Between Springfield and Joliet you get to pace I-55 and watch the cars and trucks lose the race and fall behind. Always satisfying.

See why the costs of TE and SL are high. Don't remember the TE/SL switching being as complicated as in this video.

Thanks, the last time I was there was catching a train in 1986, and trust me, it did not look like that. Gorgeous. Well done Ford and Detroit.

Thank you. Pretty sure the motorcoaches can do the same if not better timing traveling down I-20 in East Texas. It's the FTW-San Antonio delays that make no sense. BNSF is pretty good at getting the TE on time between FTW and Temple. But then UP takes over on dark territory for about 50 miles...

Why did a 6 hour late 22 consist turn around in FTW to become a 6 hour late 21? Never mind, I see there is a bus bridge between Longview and FTW.

22 is 7 hours late due to fatal collision with a vehicle, and may be having mx issues.

Breaks my heart remembering consists used to be 9-10 cars long, full and daily. If it is not said enough, thank you TEMPO for your hard work.

Agreed, on FTW being a restocking depot for the reasons given. I am sure San Antonio can do service instpections since they have crews there rearranging cars. I think the TE tops off the fuel tank at FTW and refuels when it returns to FTW the next day.

Man I feel old, but there was a reason back in the day when the Silver trains ran 18 car consists that they would split in half at Jacksonville and some siding in Auburndale and half the trains would run to Tampa.
