About 11 months out from our trip coming up this April we found a bedroom on the CZ from CHI to EMY for $1290. From what I'm seeing now that seems to be a good deal. Now I'm worried I may lose it because I see trips being cancelled. I hope they don't take it away just to sell it at a higher price.

Thanks for the reply. I will be on the LSL from CLE to CHI. We usually get a room but for the first leg of our trip we have bought coach tickets. We are seniors and are considering changing to business class because last time we rode coach on this train, we couldn't even walk down the aisle...

Im trying to understand the difference between business class and coach class. Either way you are still sitting in seats and not a room. I do know that business class has more legroom, but is that the only difference? Are all business class seats in a separate car from coach class seats?

I have no disability but I would like to try one of the accessible bedrooms on Amtrak because it's huge and you can see out both sides of the train. If it's not sold out on a particular train by a certain date before a train departs will I be able to get it or do they just leave it empty?

I think I got a pretty good deal, dont know about low buckets or high buckets. This past summer I booked a trip for April 2022, CLE to CHI in coach on the LSL and next day CHI to EMY in a superliner bedroom on the CZ for $1290.20.

Thank you everyone for your input. I know see where I messed up. When I saw $1066 under rooms, I jumped to conclusions and didnt follow thru with the different types of rooms. I will keep the reservation I already have.

No because the bedrooms in the one I marked as coach were only $668 so that wasnt enough for the jump.

Im trying to understand these bucket prices. I see all these charts folks are showing me about bucket pricing. Instead of looking at their old charts, how do I find bucket prices for the California Zephyr and where would I go to find them myself?
