Tickets missing on My Trips (both website and app)

I feel like they hired their IT department in 71 and haven't made any hires since. The amount of issues they have is really astonishing.

Superliner trains' removal and restoration of cars (2022-2023)

It's so bizarre to have to check the app every day for a trip that is 5 months away. I just rather find out now than 2 weeks ahead (if I'm lucky.) So far so good for the Eagle in January.

If it plugs into something and deals with Amtrak, it's probably not going to work as it should. Put them into the app manually. If a QR code shows up, you're fine. If it doesn't, your seats may have been cancelled and you need to call customer service.

Superliner trains' removal and restoration of cars (2022-2023)

I have 6 roomette and 2 sleeper trips coming up in the next 6 months. I am so nervous that it's going to be all screwed up. :(

    Amtrak Station Winslow, AZ

I looked at Turo for them and nothing is available. :(

Superliner trains' removal and restoration of cars (2022-2023)

This has been happening for both the California Zephyr and the South West Chief. There are a few other posts saying the same thing. I would call them directly and find out when the next trip is that has availability in the first sleeper.

Getting checked bags off after station closes?

Ok. I see where the confusion is. The baggage area closes at 5:15. You're supposed to have your baggage checked in an hour before, 4:36 pm, so there are still people working to load the train and unload the train. They just stop manning the counter because that's the last train of the day.

That was the beginning of that, yes. I couldn't even imagine..... >_<

Getting checked bags off after station closes?

MOST of the time, station attendants will stay when a train is delayed, especially where there is baggage service. That would be a nightmare if every time a train was late people were just SOL. You should be fine.

SLC checked luggage, eastbound to CHI

It so depends on the station. I know here at CLE, they will stay as long as they need. I've been 6 hours late coming in and there were still attendants.

What is needed for better maintained equipment and on time Amtrak service?

Better management would lead to better use of resources, be it manpower or material. The other two would help with guest experience on Amtrak. That may not help directly with maintenance issues or delays, but people are less likely to have a "never again" attitude if the people they interact...

    Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad

I have my orientation to volunteer aboard the CVSR on Tuesday so there will definitely be far better pictures in the future. I'm so lucky my schedule allows me to do this!

    Travel from Montreal

The Maple Leaf is running out of Toronto, so you could take VIA to Toronto and then Maple Leaf to NYP. Hopefully, with all the shouting people are doing about the Adirondack being the last line to be restored, it will be up in 13 months from now.

I would have loved to start out of CLE and go west but she just did the drive here twice so it's my turn to go over there. And again, time constraints for her so the extra day to come west for her doesn't work right now. If she didn't hate Florida we would have probably taken the Silver South...

Yes, we won't be in Oklahoma. LOL!!! I was looking to see if Baltimore was closer. But no, that annoying water in the way causes it to be father and more expensive. I have only gone into WIL once myself and I remember it wasn't bad, but my home station of CLE isn't anything to write home...

Thank you for your suggestions. It's my sister's first time on Amtrak but it's my.... who knows...over 20 years of riding.... I was just mainly confused about why the site wasn't showing NOR as the southern terminus.

I wish I could but she lives in DE and has limited time she can be away so I'm driving from CLE and taking the train from WIL with her which is her closest station and still an hour and 15 away. Maybe by end of Feb they'll have traditional back.... Maybe....

Well I just booked it for the week AFTER Mardi Gras. We're too old for that. Lol! She's currently doing all the research so I'm excited she's excited. We'll see if somewhere in MS we're just shoved off the train into an airboat.

I was gonna say... I've been on Amtrak for 20 years and I know it can be quirky, to put it really nicely, so I'm glad it's still them and not me. Lol!

I was looking to do a trip with my sister in February/March from WIL to NOL and that seems to work fine. Then I was looking for more information for her since it would be her first time on an LD train and she likes knowing about what to expect, where we will be, etc. On the Crescent page on...
