IIRC they were ordered in 6 and 8-car sets if Amtrak really needed extra capacity couldn't they hook up 2 6-car trains to make a 12-car train? Could a 12-car train work on the NEC?

When does the lounge in Portland open for the day? Amtrak has it from 9:30 am - 5:40 pm daily but I noticed that Google maps say 7:15 am - 8 pm and it was updated recently.

I definitely despise those reheated eggs amtrak uses both on sleepers and Acela, so I personally would go for pancakes. But, I'd also look for things like cereal and breakfast bars because they're usually better.

So it seems amtrak brought back readable schedules, they're not the same as before but it fills in the gap of the missing PDF schedules since covid. You have to search by route and then click the print button inorder to see it. It's not great (espeically how it's formatted) but after not...

I've noticed that they added trains 503 and 508 with cheaper business-class tickets than the other trains could these possibly be Talgos too?

I want to try and ride the Talgos once before they retire and when planning the trip I noticed that the cascades use a mix of Horizon and Talgo cars. Is there a way I can tell which trip would use a Talgo or horizon before I book? I asked Amtrak and they said there's no guarantee but my best bet...

If the restaurant is good it's worth a sacrifice. 😅 Especially when it's en route because those are hard to justify actually stopping at.

One of my favorite places is not too far from Buffalo Depew station but the LSL times make it impossible to order from there. I'd need an eastbound train to be 4 hours late and someone willing to wait at the station until the train gets there in order to get food from there.

I was hoping they'd replace the tacky images on the walls but I guess that was asking for too much. Seems like the same fridge, ice machine, and coffee machine that they added in Philly. Also, does the ice machine work now?

Yeah honestly for once the temporary experience was better than the normal experience, I wonder what the new lounge will look like.

So I went to the temp lounge, unfortunately I forgot to get pics but it was basically just a. couple of sofas and a table with goodie bags. You also get 1500 points for signing in. Goodie bag was a bottle and some snacks. (Second bottle was from the person traveling with me.)
