    Yep, diner last seating will be at 9pm. Lounge stays open until 11. You may have to wait until breakfast. CSX doesn't care and has no reason to.

    For the past few months, timekeeping on 19/20 has been awful. In May it was on time 6.5% of the time. Part of the problem of course is Norfolk Southern, but, since the schedule change on 19 account NYP track work, part of it now goes back to Amtrak. Twice so far 20 has been very late arriving...

    I'm on 19(13) right now and we knew about the power swap but not the air problem. That's what took four hours. 20 is now a full 5 hours late out of BHM, projected into ATL at midnight. Aren't we glad that we're not doing crew scheduling?

    Not likely. Among other things, there are two good sized single track bridges and several stretches of single track with no sidings.

    MEI-TCL and reverse have always been subject to delays. The crews call it the the Bermuda Triangle. Cannot explain ATN-ATL - hasn't been too much issue in the past. I understand that NS is implementing a new automated dispatch system and it may not account well for higher speed of passenger...

    There would be no report on a sleeper since they are not in service. My only experience in a diner is that they ride much better than the heritage diner and certainly have a more airy feeling from the higher ceiling and upper level windows.

    Actually, many of the delays are between TCL and MEI because of several single track sections and one ended sidings. The crews call it the Bermuda Triangle.

    The scheduled arrival time NOL is 9 pm local. # 20 departure remains at 7 am. If 19 is late, which it usually is, there could be challenges re: required crew rest time.

    The Crescent has a Business Class coach that the Silver Service doesn't. It is a regular coach between the sleepers and the bag.
