The Crescent is serviced at Sunnyside just like the Silver Service. NOL maintenance is minimal, mainly turning the train if necessary, depending on whether it was backed in or headed into the station, and re-stockiing.

Agree. The driver was incompetent for not realizing that he would not get across the hump. Many times these humped crossings are marked, but I didn't see anything that looked like a sign in the video.

That's the same consist that the Crescent has been running post-pandemic. The eastern single level trains use consists interchangeably, so Silver Service will be the same.

The "new" Crescent schedule has a lot more pad between ATL-NOL and I think the timekeeping is better, although arrival in NOL is 2 hours later than before.

Sleepers have been at the rear ever since I can remember. As noted, front to back, 2 coaches, cafe, 2 sleepers, baggage/dorm.

It's pretty good on the Crescent from ATL to NOL except for about 10 miles around the GA-AL border.

The no checked baggage thing at ATL is temporary. The elevator is broken and checked bags will return when it is fixed.

My understanding is that NS requires two. There are grades both ways in North Carolina and Alabama. 19 and 20 have always run with two. The consist that has been running for the past 3 or 4 months is only about one car less than before the pandemic.
