    Viewliner Diners on Crescent 19/20?

Haven't seen one in quite a while. Perhaps the origin/termination at WAS has something to do with it?

    Thanks for the clarification.

19/20 is not a SL train and turns every night on a pretty tight schedule. The Sunset, which is a SL train spends the night on the 3 days per week it operates.. CONO is a Superliner trains and spends the night every night. Keep in mind that WAS has many more employees than NOL. Most of the...

Last night's 19 was 3 hours late into NOL account another broken down freight in Alabama, but the NOL station team was up to the task and 20 is out on time this morning.

Arrival at NOL was 0330, 6.6 hours down. To their credit, the NOL station team got the train turned and it left only an hour down this morning. I'll bet WAS couldn't have turned it that fast.

That problem was a broken down freight 50 or so miles south of ATL.

Both correct, but the scheduled dwell time of 25 to 30 minutes is obviously too short.

Could be, although that train can hardly ever can do that stop in the allotted time.

Account of extreme freight interference just outside of ATL, mainly NS, and then the crew went dead on the clock.

I have never seen a protect diner in NOL.

Fail to see the difference between conductor standing in the door of a bag vs the door of a sleeper.

OK, real time. I'm on #20 right now. At Livingston, AL, we were put in the hole to allow 3 freights to pass, then backed out because there was another one ahead of us on the same siding. Then we were put in the hole again to allow another freight to pass (at least we didn't have to back out)...

I'll bet it was interesting re-booking from one to the other, given the difference in room configurations and quantity. I know some folks leaving ATL several months ago who were re-booked from sleeper to BC coach account a bad ordered sleeper on 20. They were told ahead of time and refunded...

The ATN-BHM delays are a relatively new thing, while the TCL-MEI has been long term. Even the crews refer to it as the Bermuda Triangle. Seems to be due to two single track bridges and the fact that 19 and especially 20 get tucked into sidings behind freight and have to back out to return to...

"That's why the train is scheduled to leave later out of DC then before" Also so that can connect with 97 for pax with checked bags.
