Assuming CL = Cardinal, I believe that train uses Viewliner cars.

The Entenmann's version was sold in an 8" square foil pan inside a cardboard box, but I'm sure the taste would have been similar. Walmart around here also sells a "gooey butter cake" in their bakery department, and that comes in smaller portions, so a bit closer to the linked product on Amazon.

Our local supermarket used to sell something called "St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake" (made by Entenmann's), which sounds similar to Amtrak's Butter Cake. The Gooey Butter Cake was sold alongside the other packaged breakfast pastries, and probably at least some people in my hometown warmed it...

I'd love to see this expanded to Midwest Corridor trains, too! At least the "order from your phone" part. Unless one has mobility issues, getting up and walking to the Cafe Car is useful exercise -- even in a car which is split Business Class/Cafe.

Agreed. Gas-station convenience stores are able to offer pre-packaged cold sandwiches, so Amtrak should be able to also. My local Casey's keeps their prepackaged cold sandwiches in a refrigerated display. If such sandwiches were delivered frozen to a train pre-boarding at the origin point...
