Probably a decent amount, these are union shop jobs. I know especially the plumbers and electricians make a lot. That's not completely true. Maybe some are mediocre, yes; but many businesses are now advertising wages AND benefits, where they wouldn't provide benefits like medical before but...

What Amtrak needs is to modernize their res and booking systems, with some GOOD automated functions. Then a lot of this crap will go away - if they do. That, and staff-up. But staffing seems to be the bane of all businesses right now, not just transportation. The airlines are taking it...

God-dammme. I love trains but Amtrak is getting more and more mickey-mouse. Who is doing their IT? High school seniors? Is upper management now composed of college interns conducting wild experiments? What a shame all of this is.

Holy god........sheesh, what a way to go. Sad. Yes, it's like, 'blame the train' in full caps and bold headline. Brightline, TriRail, Amtrak all get headlines for this stuff in south Florida, seemingly faulting the train; never mind it's usually the victims' fault.

I really can't comprehend how this happens, unless it's deliberately ''suicide by train....'' (shudder) I understand the morons that go around crossing gates thinking they can beat the oncoming train, they're impatient idiots that deserve what happens. But - pedestrians? First of all...

Yea, I'm with you, when I saw that photo I thought, 'oh hell no, it's a total loss.' Maybe as another poster suggested it's a photo of something else. I wouldn't want to be the first to cross it - but I doubt Amtrak would be 'trying their luck.' Someone has to have carefully checked...
