Yes, it is quite a bit short for most Amtrak rooms. While frowned upon by some, a 12 gauge extension cord used with this device should not cause any sort of electrical issue in the room.

Exactly. I don’t mind riding backwards myself! Regarding the Superliner, I traveled in an A bedroom on the Capitol Ltd in 2019. Other than riding backwards, the bathroom entrance was as you enter the room instead of being across from the single seat like the Viewliner layout.

Other than the CONO, all the menus are exactly the same. Why bother providing all these separate menu links on the Flexible Dining page? Just have two links: 1 - City of New Orleans Menu 2 - Flexible Dining Menu - All Other Trains Seems misleading and a bit shady to me!

FYI - the menus on the Amtrak website are working again. Not surprisingly, all east coast LD trains STILL have the Flex Menu!

I generally stick with the continental breakfast option. The bialy breakfast sandwich is better-tasting than the English muffin sandwich IMHO!

The menus under Onboard Dining on the Amtrak website are currently not working. You receive a "404" error and a picture of "Julie", Amtrak's virtual assistant! Could this mean Amtrak is preparing to return traditional dining to ALL long-distance trains? I know, wishful thinking!!!!!

We always sit on the terrace overlooking the train hall. It’s fun to do people-watching from up there. I love all the light coming in from the glass ceiling.

Amtrak is slow to update many things. For example: the PDF ticket for the Silver Star says if you’re hungry to purchase food in the cafe/lounge car as there is no dining car available. The dining car was restored to the Star some time ago!

I just purchased round trip Silver Service travel for 4/30 (Silver Star) and 5/8 (Silver Meteor). My Star sleeper is 9111 and the Meteor sleeper is 9812. Have they done away with the #10 sleeper car as they seem to have done on the Lake Shore Limited?
