No one ever scanned my ticket on 48 (8/13) boarding in Toledo. Maybe because I was in a sleeper? Or, maybe because it was a round-trip ticket that was scanned on 49 (8/3) boarding in NYP?

The VL1 sleepers desperately need updating and/or replacing. Check out these pictures of my cup holder in a VL1 roomette on a very recent Lake Shore Limited trip, and my low-tech “hack” to make it usable: No one should have to pay these high prices for such dilapidated equipment!

Excellent news the trains are running past the old warehouse in ALB! Unless something goes wrong and bustitution returns, I’ll post how train travel is past the location in question on my 49 trip Wednesday.

I’m booked on 49 (8/3) out of NYP. So, I will attempt to describe how the bus bridge experience is from my personal point-of-view. I’ll try to add a picture or two as well.

So, Albany and Schenectady are only 19 miles apart, as the crow flies. Now, the bigger question for those booked in sleepers is: will we travel in coach between NYP and ALB, take the bus between ALB and SDY, and get into our room at SDY?

Interesting because I made Select Plus in May of this year. Amtrak mailed me a physical lounge card.
