Rules regarding Diner doubling as a lounge

Glancing through the Amtrak Service Manual someone posted yesterday. The conductor is supposed to have one table in the diner set aside for him/her during the time he/she are not on the platform or lifting tickets, etc.. It is for him/her to do the multitude of reports required. And to be a...

    Food suggestions on delayed trains

Just asked my partner (ex-Subway manager) what he would do for a large order. He said that 120 cold cut combos could be knocked out in about an hour from a single store. They are kind of the the "basic" sandwich/sub. That is without adding individual's preferences.

    Snow storms on Donner Pass

I think it is extremely nice of Amtrak (and some air carriers under the same issues-weather) to offer hotels. Weather is beyond their control and they certainly aren't responsible. That is good customer service.

    Who is drawn to flying?

Funny you mentioned EA backing out of the gate at ATL. I was transferring from MIA to BOS at ATL the first time I saw it - freaked me out. I actually stood up and moved back away from windows. Then shortly after seeing that I had a Beech 99 captain for Executive Airlines that I worked for that...

    Who is drawn to flying?

I know Cape Air is supposed to be the Eviation Alice twin-motored fully electric 9-pax aircraft launch customer in the near future. They've ordered 90 of them. Weird looking airplane! Sorry I'll stick with the tried and true Cessna 402!

Still a few 757s and 767s buzzing around. At 1730/26DEC.

    Following Anniversary Engine #184

Sadly we have only had a dusting in Denver (and that was at the airport near my house) this season. It was gone in about two hours. That was a couple of day before Christmas.

    Who is drawn to flying?

Grew up in aviation and airplanes. 45+ years in the industry. Hate commercial flying now. Put me in a DC-3 or even a Cessna 172 and I'll go anywhere.

    Surprisingly the 767 lives on!

I agree fully. I just imagined the on-loading/off-loading of ULDs and equipment needed.

    Surprisingly the 767 lives on!

I remember UPS was going to be a launch customer for the 380F. That idea went down the tubes real quick. I still have a small desk/shelf flag with a 380 in UPS livery somewhere around the house.

    Stretch/Smoke Stop List

Thanx for the update. I have seen many "long stops" are all dependent on delays and crews. Sometimes yes-sometimes no.

    Stretch/Smoke Stop List

Here is a list of Stretch/Smoke Stops than I have gleaned from various sources for while. Not sure how up-to-date is these days.

    Surprisingly the 767 lives on!

IFL Group is still operating a 727 daily I think for UPS from Louisville to New Orleans. Now the UA Caravelle is a golden oldie. Remember United and Air France's flying them when I worked at MIA. Then spent 33 years with UPS.

    Mask requirements on Amtrak

A wagon is a foreign reference to a rail car.

    Mask requirements on Amtrak

I watch those do it it daily right out my window and usually at their God given right to do it at 80mph!
