Does Amtrak exist anymore? Can't reach them by phone for a reservation in any way shape or form. They say there is a 30 minute hold [actually 6 hours] but if u agree to give em your info they will call back by 11pm and you must be sitting by the phone waiting to pick up. If not you're out of...

Just think of what you could do with the $600 being lost due to Amtrak caused res xcl's that could be better spent somewhere else. You may want to actually consider a car trip even with high gas prices... next fall. At $6 per gallon, a car getting 30 miles per gallon could go 3000 miles on...

With rail enthusiasts I guess Amtrak management feels they have a captive audience they can do with what they want without showing respect or appreciation to you and me... the customer. Does your hard earned money mean anything? Can they just steal your fare out of your pocket by downgrading you...

Another tech blunder from Amtrak... call center was flooded with folks waiting on hold to find out what's going on. Couldn't get through. Glad that they at least sent out the 'disregard' message. Other recent glitches included the 2nd factor authentication glitch. What a waste of time and...

When visiting the 1st class lounge in Moynihan, I was told that execs use the provided space for business meetings / clients. Not sure if policy is the same in all lounges... but if you are allowed to bring in a guest I would think that guest - can easily enter. Then again, it depends on...

Joined this discussion after the disruption... but it seems that EB in both direction is running ok and on time.

It's great when Amtrak sources from local restaurants... they've done this in the past with pax enjoying some really authentic and quality foods... hoping this is a sign of 'Buttercake' better things to come in the Amtrak diner!

I love those Stouffer's chicken pot pies ... easily nuked, rich and delicious... the large ones can be had for $4... stuff like that would be a no brainer for Amtrak... but good ideas seem to get lost in their bureaucratic jungle.

Certainly the Texas triangle, and all of the Southeast. Bringing back a LD from CHI to MCO to MIA would certainly be packed. But as service is scaled back... it's harder to bring back.
