    Daily service (maybe)

NER Business Class or Acela First Class--Best Bet for COVID Times?

I haven’t been on a train in awhile (so I can’t say firsthand), but as I understand it, even in coach, they’re assigning seats right now. They are only assigning everyone a window seat. (If you’re in a group, you can sit together.) And with the reduced ridership and them limiting to 50%, I...

Requesting advice on my AGR loyalty with service cutbacks

I’m using my Hilton credit card as my primary card now.
  4. the_traveler

Are you using the AGR credit card less?

I seldom use my AGR credit card anymore. The only reason I’m using it is because I canceled my trips and have a $387 credit on the card. After it gets to $-0-, I’ll hardly use it.

Requesting advice on my AGR loyalty with service cutbacks

One thing I’m going to do is switch from the paid card to the free card. You wont get the 1,000 TPQs, but you will save $79 per year (the fee) and you will still extend the expiration date and still get the point rebate!

Vonlane Bus Has A Texas Liquor License

Back in the 1990’s, I flew cross country in First Class. I admit that I don’t drink that much, but we had over a 3 hour ground delay on the taxiway due to weather (we say 1 1/2 movies and had our meal - even before we left the ground). With the free drinks in First Class,by the time I got to...

Safety and environmental issues with Amtrak's Flex Dining concept

Neither does the CDC. They may issue “recommendations”, but the Administration says “Do as they say, or do as I say.”

Safety and environmental issues with Amtrak's Flex Dining concept

Yeah, he’s right. He did eliminate the operating losses. Cutting trains, cutting food, cutting amenities, etc... etc...

    Long distance considerations

To make it simple: Vegetarian - contains no meat, but may contain dairy (like milk, cheese or eggs) Vegan - vegetarian but contains no dairy products

But you did say “sissy-stick” in your post!

I agree that they should, especially for “hidden” ingredients. But some are so obvious, their postings are stupid! While reading the warnings, I learned a couple of things. Did you know that peanut butter cookies contain peanuts! Or that almond milk contains almonds!

    Long distance considerations

To be honest, I don’t care for vegetables all that much. But I do use them all the time for dishes. You may have heard the survivalists on “Naked and Afraid” go looking for Heart of Palm. I use it all the time to make things like Pulled Pork and Crab Cakes and Lobster Salad. And many say...

That I’ll agree with you on. Much can be done with spices, much of what most people have in their cabinet right now.

And I find it interesting that many meat eaters say: “How can you eat this? It has no taste, and doesn’t even taste like bacon/crab/steak/etc...”!

I’m only guessing, but there’s a good possibility that most of those workers are not vegans. They may have chicken wings or a ham sandwich or a hamburger for lunch.

Honey is not vegan - as it is produced by bees (an animal).

    Long distance considerations

I have heard from many sources that COVID-19 was traced to China and wet markets, and also that there were shortages of meat because many meat processing plants were shut due to a large employee concentration of the virus. I never heard of a large farm being shut down because of COVID-19.

And some meat eaters also avoid steak or veal or fish or ... also.

Do you realize that most “regular” sugar is refined by passing it thru bone char - which is ground up bone? Other sweeteners you can use include coconut sugar, maple sugar, date sugar, maple syrup and agave.
