I was always surprised that bedrooms only had 1 outlet/plug, while roomettes had 2 outlets/plugs!

I’ve only noticed 1 in a Superliner bedroom (by the sink). I never knew there was a 2nd plug by the couch!

I get any shipments sent by (whatever company) that is sent by SmartPost. It may be shipped by UPS/DHL/FedEx/etc from (where ever) to CT or MA, but is then transferred to the Post Office for delivery. Even Amazon, even though they make their own deliveries to my sister in RI or my friend in NJ...

I can fly from Albany to Harrisburg on American, Delta and United Airlines. To me that’s competitive. On all, I would have at least 1 (and maybe both) flight(s) on smaller commuter jets without any service. (I might get a beverage if I’m lucky.) So where is this ”better service” you speak of?🤔

Why stop at privatizing railroads? Let’s also privatize airlines and buses! You say they already are? How much does Greyhound pay to drive on I-80 or I-5? How much does Megabus pay to drive on I-95 or I-20? How much did American Airlines pay to build and operate O’Hare or Little Rock airport...

Those are not Viewliner coaches, they are mostly Amfleet II (although I’ve seen Amfleet Is used on the LSL). I was only going from BOS to SDY, so I thought it might be the “short” coach. But I saw many seat checks for Toledo - and they boarded in Boston!

I agree. The northbounds are usually “discharge only”, so as soon as the locomotive is swapped, it can depart. Even southbound,I would not try it. They close the boarding gates a few minutes before departure time. So even if you got a 30 minute stop, and you go inside but want to board at 28...

So instead of having 100 people boarding and 100 people detaining in a certain door, you instead have 200 people standing in the aisle - half getting off and half trying to reach their seats! Smart! :rolleyes:

However, that only relates to the first sleeper. The H-Room and vestibule is next to the dining car, allowing for an easy roll-in. However, there is no easy roll-in from the 2nd or 3rd sleeper.

Ride share programs like Lyft (I’m not 100% sure about Uber) require their passengers AND drivers to wear masks! I wear my mask over my mouth, but not over my nose. If I do, my glasses fog up. I think it is much more dangerous to both myself and others to either walk or drive not being able to...

There are Viewliner sleepers and Viewliner Dining Cars (er - I meant ”sleeper lounges”), but there are not any Viewliner coaches!
