Thanks guys, I figured there was transport from Union Station to Santa Monia...I'll be arriving late, I think it is 9 or 10 pm...spend the night...then Santa Monica in the morning, Dodger game in the evening, then disc golf and maybe a bit more the next day before I head out at 10 pm...

So, I'm staying a the Metro Plaza Hotel in LA, which is a quick walk from Union Station...google maps says it is only a mile or so walk from the hotel. to Dodger Stadium...I like to hike much longer distances in the Rockies, so for me an easy 20-30 minute walk...much easier and less...

I'm just going to miss you by a few days, I'll be in NOLA overnight 4/17, 4/18, 4/19.

Final update (hopefully), had to make changes after the 5 day a week schedule was recently extended. Basically, lose a night in Seattle and added a night in New Orleans. I'm leaving at just after midnight (very early) 4/9 from Buffalo. LSL/Empire Builder Buffalo to Chicago, Roomette #6 Chicago...

They will only give the same accommodation at no cost on legs that they cancelled which does cause problems...for instance I was scheduled New Orleans to Buffalo...only the Chicago to Buffalo segment was cancelled, so I had to move that piece out a day...which leaves me to pay for a night in...

I couldn't find an update for the Superliner Refresh rollout in the last few months. Does anyone have an update on how many refurbs are in service? Is it just coach cars or have sleepers/SSL been introduced into service? Are certain routes going to get the refresh ahead of others?

None as of now, but in 2 months it will be LSL (Buffalo to Chicago), Empire Builder, Coast Starlight, Sunset Limited, and CONO)...looking forward to not being an Amtrak virgin...

I know, I've been watching the live Amtrak tracking...a lot of trains are late...which is why I'm staying two nights in Seattle, LA, and New Orleans on my big loop from Buffalo...the only potential issue is the 4 hour layover between LSL from Buffalo to Chicago and then catching the Empire...
