What day are you leaving? The other train set is on schedule so depending what day you are leaving you might be okay. I agree they should cancel one train so it can catch up.

Book as soon as you know your travel plans, Keep checking prices and if it drops call Amtrak and ask for a price adjustment. They will either credit your credit card or issue you an E-credit for the difference. I do that all the time.

Yes they have a new schedule Current schedule is trains leave 5pm and latest time for vehicle drop off is now 3pm. Trains arrives the next morning 10:00 am.

If you do not have to be at your destination in a hurry, I would not bother with the priority off load. The roomettes are very narrow bunk beds about 30" wide. If close confined areas bother you, the roomette is not for you. The top bunk your nose practically touches the curved ceiling.

The breakfast is not that exciting and most times I do not even bother with it. I wait till after I get off the train and go to a decent restaurant.
