Yeah, that was the case for me, we had an unrefurbished lounge on the Silver Star in April, they had to do just that. The policy has changed my attitude in wanting an unrebuilt lounge over a rebuilt one, this way I can take advantage of the extra seating.

I remember them having to handle the ac when I was on 98. I remember getting on in ORL and the room was pretty hot. Fortunately, it was lunch time, and the diner was nice and cool, so it was no big deal in the end. Good to hear from ya Joe, thanks for the updates. B)

Yeah, timetables are generally easy to purchase on eBay. I've bought a few, and its a heck of a lot easier (and cheaper) than trying to order a model.

Uh-Oh, I don't like the sound of that. My next trip isn't until December, and based on what you may be saying (I can only guess), but hopefully on 91 and 98. But then at least I only have to wait till February for the trip after that on 97 and 98. Both are going to be NWK-ORL.

I know this is somewhat off topic, but isn't the Meteor 65 this year? I'm glad the EB has survived for this long. I may even get one of the commemorative posters. Can't wait to actually ride it, hopefully I'll get the chance soon...

Yeah, I've seen that commercial too. Also, if you look closely, at the beginning of this past week's episode of 24, you see an Amtrak train backing up in the background.

He Works on the Silver Meteor (IIRC), as he was working 98 on my return trip. Obviously for now, the Silver Meteor is "part" of the Silver Star.

I'm glad to hear that meal service is further improving. Now if only we could get a full dining car on both routes... :D
