Yeah that is what I had thought too, but I was going eastbound and had cafe access the entire trip. I was also served a flex meal for dinner east of Albany as well but it was actually served with a roll and salad, desert, etc.

correct, the flex was served in convection ovens in the viewliner dining car.

Well, it looks like most train sets are now running without the 4th coach. Also, the one remaining Talgo set appears to now be assigned to 503/508, at least for now.

It’s not always the higher fare rail fare. All of the CZ fares I see are based off of the lower rail fare price ($277) rather than the higher one ($290). I.e the lowest roomette bucket available for the CZ is $616 which is 339+277

They all change at once. The lowest bucket now is the same as the lowest bucket if you’re booking a ticket that’s departing 11 months from now. They used to only change the buckets once every year or two, but now it seems like they adjust them every 6 months or so. It is pretty easy to notice...

Perhaps, but on the West Coast they never do this. On Cascades, the only time they will kick you out of the cafe car is on trains 517/518 when they load on commissary items and restock at Seattle.

The 503/508 train set has been running without 1 coach for a few days. All the others still have 4 coaches + the cafe car as of now. In addition to that post from the Amtrak Cascades Twitter account, I’ve also heard talk from OBS about the creation of a new train set using horizons.

Sounds like a coach is going to removed form each horizon set to create a new set.

Train 765 is the guaranteed connection to train 14, as long as they are on the same reservation.

Did you change the setting for "Layovers" to "No Layovers"? Otherwise, Railforless will show connections between 449 and 49 at ALB, which will cause there to be a lot of similarly priced (but slightly different) fares that you are indicating.

511 is also now canceled due to ‘mechanical issues’
