Hence why I said ‘or conductors.’ I was riding my home train (the cascades, which also doesn’t have car attendants) last week and witnessed the conductor bring a paper cafe menu to someone in a wheelchair. After taking their order and payment they came back with their food.

Car attendants and conductors are supposed to provide at seat service for those in mobility devices. I wouldn’t expect that to change

You can book a room in the transition sleeper car where the rooms are always on the same side!

The CONO dosent even have flex meals right now (no dining car, again). Sleeper passengers are simply given their choice at the cafe menu.

They have stopped doing seat assignments on cascades since COVID. It’s open seating now. At larger stations however they usually let those with priority (seniors, mobility impaired) board first, then they will do groups of 4, groups of 2, and then solo travelers usually board last.

516 originates in Seattle. It always operates with the older horizon equipment these days, so plan on that. Those have 2x2 seats unless your in business class (then it’s 2x1). You’ll clear customs after arriving the Vancouver station. Have a good trip!

They can run traditional dining service with the VLII diner. However, they need trained staff and other stuff before they can implement it. In the mean time, they will run Flex dining out of the diner. This is what happened on the Silver Service trains before traditional dining was brought back...
