My roomette on the Crescent for WAS - NOL on the 23rd of Dec was $509. My return on the 3rd of Jan is $265. Of course the night travel is between WAS and ATL on both legs, Maybe that makes a difference

Amtrak did offer an Alternative transportation on the segment it cancel. They said they would bus us (My wife and I) from NOL to ATL where we could rejoin the Crescent. I opted to change the date of travel to Sun the 3rd, which was still running and had the accomdations I wanted. Barry

I've done it both ways. Took a reservation from the dinner car attendent walking through Coach, and I've just walked down to the dinner and they seated me.
