Anyone know what time the SW Chief westbound usually gets to ABQ

I had called Amtrak and they said Newton is usually a 15 minute stop if the train is on time. I just wondered if anyone knew what the situation in Albuquerque is. You guys already told me the Chief usually gets into L.A. about an hour early.

Anyone know what time the SW Chief westbound usually gets to ABQ

It's supposed to get in at 1555 and leave at 1645. I'd like to see my cousin in Albuquerque if I have time for her to come to the station. Even better, do you know someplace good near the station to grab a quick bite to eat? I posted my trip on my Facebook page. So far I'll see two people :)...

Things To Do Near Union Station Chicago?

LOL, Sorcha, I did ask him, and he didn't know. I think that was just what the delivery guy told him. By the way, the manager of Beggar's Pizza was a sweetheart! AND totally thrilled to know that you guys all recommended Beggar's.

    Parking at Union Station, Chicago

Thanks Jebr - We actually could take Milwaukee District/North Line, some of the stations are fairly nearby. I can't tell anything about the parking though at most of the stations. Glenview says it only has 4 long term parking spaces! It would require phoning each station, and wouldn't you know...

    Parking at Union Station, Chicago

Jebr, not sure what you mean by route? We do have Metra here that goes a few blocks from Amtrak - Ogilvie Center at 500 W. Madison (I think - my chauffeur memory says that is it.) And the el goes a few blocks away I think. If we have to we can take a cab to the el, and the el to wherever it...

Things To Do Near Union Station Chicago?

I found out Beggar's Pizza AND Lou Malnati's both will deliver to Union Station! Where should I meet the driver? The manager of Beggar's said "by the boards" may be easiest, but the driver would come wherever we want him to. I'll park my luggage with my sister and go meet the delivery guy. What...

Oh gosh, Sorcha, I wear my jammy bottoms and a t-shirt to the bathroom at 3 a.m. With my Birkenstocks ;)

    Parking at Union Station, Chicago

I checked Naperville, it parking is free http://www.naperville.il.us/amtrak.aspx, but I will call to double check. Also I will ask them if parking is hard to find. Good point! As long as I can drop my sister off by the tracks, I can go around and park. My sister can't walk very far. If we had...

Things To Do Near Union Station Chicago?

Okay, I give. What's a gate dragon? (Jeez I already got called a lounge lizard, maybe I'm a gate dragon too) I like waiting in Union Station. It's so pretty in the big room. But I guess you are talking about right near the train.

    Parking at Union Station, Chicago

You guys have such awesome suggestions, that's why I'm asking. I hope you don't think this is a dumb question for a Chicago native. So we're having trouble finding someone to drive us to the Amtrak station in Chicago. A cab is around $30, so we could do that. Parking at Union Station for 10...

    sandals?

I'm a slouch I guess. Even when my son and I have gone to Yosemite, Big Sur, Sonoma, Ashland, Oregon (side trips from where he lives in the Bay Area) I have worn sandals.

    sandals?

Oy vey, Ch. I guess I have to bring real shoes. Gosh darn it! I've gotten away with sandals and no real shoes since May. *Sniff* That means I can't show off my painted toesie nails on the train. *Sniff* And gym shoes will look mighty clunky with the cute dress I was going to wear. Double *sniff*.
