Great report! I loved reading this while trying to figure out how to post my report. I think we might have been in the lounge at Chicago around the same time, on the 10th. But with each passing day my powers of recollection decline somewhat.

Hi Manny.. I don't know if it's consistent, I just took a round trip on the CONO and coming back to Chicago, the sleepers were in the back, and I've already forgotten the positioning on the outbound trip. Hope someone can give you a better response and I am terrible with details like specs...

And Lonestar just posted a Cardinal video... really enjoyed...OK, I have to admit, spent more time watching train videos the last couple of days than I should, but it's been very timely and welcome. Going to address some lost productivity now and in the next couple of days :)

Another update to this fun thread. The AutoTrain post above, made me a fan of T1D Wanderer. I watch his content fairly zealously in addition to Lonestar. Love both for different reasons - Lonestar is the young tech savvy guy who refers to train engines by their specific number, like a friend...

Thanks for your hard work, patience and perseverance. Quality of information matters! This is getting to be the story for so many aspects of life now, and I appreciate the care and thought you put into this.

It looks like there were some additional cancels based on not having equipment to turn? Amtrak was replying to people this morning on the Alerts account on Twitter, but I couldn't piece together the entire picture.

Trying to find some info on the CONO "Transition" sleeper... is this something unique to this train? In both directions, or just included in the consist as needed for repositioning?

Good! Can't hurt to write them, the letter doesn't have to be 100% accurate as to the causes and solutions, the excessive numbers of cancellations point to something under the hood that needs to be looked at. Whether writing actually does anything, I just don't know. Regardless, I applaud...
