Fwiw, the experience posted above, from the swc, is being discussed on Amtrak employees Facebook page. Many employees upset and frustrated about the situation as it happened. Others discussing the frustration of their new schedule of working 6 days and having 4 days off for the swc.

Making an announcement to get off and get food in Was will never happen. Even without the announcement there are enough people that get off to get food and then get lost/delayed/confused only to come back and find their train has left without them!

Over the course of many years, I have seen the business class car occasionally turned with tables next to sleeper. This is usually due to a last minute shop of regular BC car and no time or effort available to ensure the replacement car is "turned" correctly.

You will have no problem. You may find Amtrak police ask to see your train ticket while you are seated in the waiting area, but you will have no problem waiting.
