Train 97 is currently 9 Hours late at Charleston, SC. Most of delay occurred at RVR. Track Work?

I have been riding Amtrak for 17 years and only once did I miss a connection. Amtrak put me up in a nice hotel (in Chicago) gave me taxi money, dinner money and booked me on the next day train. Other than being one day late, I was pleased with the arrangements by Amtrak.

I arrived in Winter Haven, FL at about 1:15am, May 4.

We do WTH to SFC a couple of times a year to visit our daughter. That's 4 nights and 5 days. I find the trip relaxing and enjoyable.

Mrs. Shanghai watched the show. She commented to me that the bedroom on the train was very different from the bedroom we have taken. She mentioned the size of the room and that there was a desk in the room.

When we lived overseas, I would rent a car in NJ that was normally restricted to NJ & NY. I had to request that the car could travel to PA where my daughter was in college. No problem, but PA was added to the contract.

We just returned home on the: SFC to EMY to CHI to WAS to WTH. I don't know the mileage but it took 5 days and 4 night on the trains.

We have a daughter in San Francisco, so when we travel there we go to Chicago (2 days), spend the night in a hotel, then travel onto San Francisco (2 days). We do the same on the return trip. Makes the trip more enjoyable.
