The United States is a very large country. Trains already take too long for most people, even without stopping overnight. Even in Europe, which has fast trains, overnight trains are making a bit of a comeback and the food looks better than what Amtrak is now serving.

Gee...is that the one for the Las Vegas train promised after the Desert Wind was cancelled? I've been waiting 25 years ! LOL

Good question. I don't know the answer, but it is likely for "historical" reasons. The stations at Pomona and North Palm Springs aren't much better. Neither was Indio, when they used to stop there. Has anyone noticed the new Amtrak ads on Radio and TV ? There are new ads running on local radio and YouTube here in the Los Angeles market. One in particular pomotes private accomodations and complemntary "meals" on long ditance trains. The other promotes Amtrak as a clean in safe travel...

In California, Rad would likely have been cited and released. He may be surprised if things are different in Missouri ;-)

Looking back at the last fifty years, I am skeptical. Amtrak is not a priority, especially now given all of the other "priorities"

Three days a week, or even once a week, is fine for "experiential" trains ;-)

I stayed at the Hotel Denver a few years back. Both the hotel and pub/restaurant were good. I would definitely stay there again. Very convenient.
