I've seen 3 different Chicago-bound LSL's this month on the Chesterton cam, all 3 were sans the Boston Sleeper.   I just assumed it was another "seasonal cut".

Oh I imagine that they will, out of (say it with me kids) an "Abundance of Caution", but for AMTK actual impacts to the infrastructure should be fairly minimal - the storm should be down to or below Tropical Storm strength long before reaching the east coast, and with its forward speed rainfall...

I'm not buying on Michael. I think it'll peak at 3 or 4 in the Gulf, but weaken as it turns north-northeast Tuesday into Wednesday (not that the NHC will actually show weakening while approaching the coast, mind you). Go look up Hurricane Opal 1995 for an analog.

I don't see that at all. I think what happened here is Gardner got ahead of himself and "Said too much" of the plan too soon. Now the PR Flaks are walking that back.

This. Not making decisions based on rumors is one thing. Not making decisions due to willful disregard of recent history and application of common sense is another.

There were plenty of "Let Conrail Be Conrail" stickers back in the day too. We saw how well that worked.

I'd always thought this was because of the large turnover on the train at WAS, and that conductors/ACs want to get everyone's tickets/seat checks right...

With, of course, the exception of the SWC, which might well have the train removed altogether.

Which is kinda my point. I think at this point, it's a reasonable assumption and expectation that they will. But I wouldn't bet the farm...

Assuming, of course, they're still serving food at all...

That Holiday Inn Express isn't all that new, I stayed at it probably 6 years ago on our first visit to San Antone. And even then, the desk staff warned me to keep my car locked in the parking lot, and to only use their shuttle back and forth to downtown after dark, not try and walk.
