Why is today’s northbound #40 saying it will terminate in Toledo and the southbound #41 will end in Delray Beach?

I just received an email from Amtrak about a schedule change notifying me that my departure from Pittsburgh going to Chicago in November is now on #0040, the Capitol Limited. Only Amtrak would confuse the situation by misnaming their own newly named train.

Buses would still have to rely on county and state roads as the interstate highways weren’t built yet. So service would be slower than a through car and substantially slower than the train.

I just hope that it’s on time performance is better than the Texas Eagle.

It has nothing to do with unions. Airline employees are unionized as are many servers in restaurants. It has everything to do with Amtrak’s lack of resolve in training good employees and enforcing existing rules.

But once Amtrak sells that seat doe a relatively short ride they can’t sell it for the longer one. So I hate to admit it but I can understand their reasoning.

I’d check the bags. The wait is minimal and sometimes you can pick them up trainside. Why schlep them on?

I'm from here - grew up here and accessibility exists often in name only. I just wanted to verify that I could get from 6th Ave PATH to Moynihan via Penn Sta without any stairs. Ordinarily I'd just walk the few blocks but it's supposed to be heavy rain.
