Yeah the red took me by surprise too. It could be for that, or possibly to indicate which end of the car is the front. The only thing is for your idea, that wouldn't really work with the Superliners since the doors are in the middle. Guess we'll have to wait for more car types to get it and see.

That would make sense. Not sure if the others will start getting repainted then too or not, but I know Superliners and Amfleets are still getting fresh Phase VI from their respective shops. They may just be using up the remaining supplies they have of vinyl for them similar to with the P42s' paint.

I think this is the train you're referring to. It was the Indianapolis 8400.
