Today's 302 had a Charger on each end, a Viewliner, and 8 Venture cars. Does anyone know why it had an almost double consist? I assume this is because 300 did not run today (reason reported was mechanical issues).

21 (1) WAS 4 hours 39 minutes late at Cleburne. 22 (2) showed black and 3 hours 53 minutes late at Cleburne but now doesn't show on the map.

#22 past Saint Louis this morning has two units, so I guess this is a permanent thing.

I see that 22 coming to Chicago is almost 7 hours late. It was late out of the gate in Texas, and things have progressively gotten worse. Does anyone know what happened?

I heard that the trackwork is in Louisiana, not Illinois.

The current service disruptions are due to trackwork-related detours in Texas.

The CONO was being turned at Jackson because of the trestle fire between there and New Orleans.

The CHI-STL track work will have the Eagle on the eastern detour tomorrow and Tuesday.

I was going to ask the same question. When leaving St. Louis today I noticed that the 22 and 301 were passing each other on the MacArthur Bridge.

Amtrak 391 (also in Illinois) had a CN unit leading for part of its journey south and then for its journey north as 392 today. It is uncommon, but it does happen.

You will be perfectly fine leaving a car at either station. Both have ample parking for their needs.

I have not noticed any decrease in oil trains on the BNSF here in Illinois.

Galesburg would be a good place. It's very safe with plenty of parking. My brother's car was left there for 2 weeks and was just fine.

NS has begun routing trains that connect to BNSF in Chicago farther south with new connections in St. Louis or Kansas City. This is apparently in effort to relieve some congestion on the Chicago line.

The Lincoln Corridor isn't very busy with UP freights. Most UP freights take the old MoPac (C&EI) line farther east through Villa Grove. I think the Springfield line only has 4 or so regularly scheduled freights each day.
