Yup, RAILFANLNK talked me into going to a Huskers game and, being that it was a convenient reason to ride the Zephyr for the first time I took him up on it. I'll probably hit the hay soon, but hopefully the Huskers will bury Kansas State tomorrow.

Thanks again to the planning committee for the Chicago and LA Gatherings who made our initial meetings possible.

Also, a big thanks to Huskermom for securing box seats to the game.

My vote's for Lincoln in 2010!!

This is what I like about this forum...the people I have met. Just took Chris to his first Huskers game and we watched a Husker win! Also, coming off the Zephyr last night, his SCA was my favorite Reggie Howard. Dang good guy in my opinion. Off to the Durham Musuem tomorrow to see the old Omaha Union Station that was open from 1931-1971. And lastly, Go Big Red!!!!!

Al I'll second your opinion regarding Reggie Howard, he's one of the best SCAs you'll ever have. Reggie knows how a sleeper should be maintained.

Is the Durham Musuem and Union Station one in the same?

The Durham Museum is in historic Union Station. The Burlington station across the tracks is allegedly being turned into condos, maybe, someday. the platform closest to Burlington serves the Amtrak station built just to the east. For quite a while there used to be an old Big Boy and a Centennial sitting between the two stations, made for an awesome site waiting for the train in the early morning.
