SWC #4 was on-time at Lawrence KS, and it got 1.5 hrs late into Kansas City? What happened? It must have enraged many connecting passengers to St. Louis . . .

Could have been an issue with fueling in argentine yard or problems with congestion where the chief rejoins the transcon?

Per Facebook, hit a tranpasser on the Topeka Sub

Wow. Again. Pathetic. Don't they ever get it? Big chunk of steel moving at 79 mph? Moving toward you, a bunch of squishy stuff (comparatively)?

Oh, and "Southern Chief" I wish that train existed . . .

Thanks for the link!

Only 1.5 hours late! This must be a world record for the shortest time for law enforcement to determine that the engineer didn't deliberately hunt down and kill the victim.

If a train has made it all the way from LA to KS on time, and then looses a lot of time all at once, I doubt it would be due to freight congestion, Rather, to some event such as trespasser, crazed motorist or truck driver, broken down Amtrak engine, broken down freight, freight derailment, weather related incident, etc. Then there are the wackier ones like the Nebraska grain elevator that got in the way of the CZ.
