Hello, just checked my wife's account, and in the promotions box there is a get 8000 points for applying for the credit card. She does not have one.

I do have the card, and when I applied I only got 5000!

Is this a new offer??

Its old, its called target marketing, some got up to 16,000 per the previous posts when this was discussed this summer! I only got 5,000 like most! :(

This summer the Mrs. got a AGR CC. I have a card on her account I thought it better to accumulate point on one account than two.

Today I received an email offering 16,000 bonus points. She only got 5,000. Almost worth it for me to get a card for the 16,000 points and use it lightly keeping the bulk point’s on her account.

I also got the 16,000 point offer. To bad I am a minor with 0 credit history. itd be worth getting buy one thing, and then of course using it on Amtrak travel. Not to mention with 16k points I could scrap together a fun sleeper reward!

They offered it to you? I assume that they know your age and credit history - APPLY what do you have to lose?

Many youngsters have problems establishing credit - here you are being handed a card - take it and use it carefully.

Shoot, the girls do that to me all the time ;)

Don't forget to put me down as reccomending you - if they are giving out points .........

I got a offer that if I get the card I would get 25,000 points but the catch is I will get into 3 split over 6 months !

My kid (just turned 11) gets cc applications in the mail all the time. I just toss them. I have no idea if he actually returned one if they would send him a card.

I tried calling one of the credit burros [sic] a while back to inquire why. After fishing thru the phone menus, I actually found one concerning minors getting cc appliations. I pressed the button, to only get a recorded message telling me I had to submit an official copy of his birth certificate, plus a bunch of other personal documents/info, and they will look into it. Yea, right. I just hung up.
